Kansas Association of School Business Officials

KASBO Members,

Senate President Susan Wagle and House Speaker Ron Ryckman have detailed allegations against Dale Dennis, Deputy Commissioner, in a letter to Jim Porter, Chairman of the State Board of Education. They have called for the State Board of Education to place Mr. Dennis on leave until an audit and an investigation are completed.  For more information about this issue there is an article posted on the Wichita Eagle Website

In my years of attending budget workshops and other informational meetings Mr. Dennis has brought the transportation issue up several times and has stated how it occurred.  There has been no deception or hidden information anytime about this issue.   Mr. Dennis has been a long serving public employee who has given the greater part of his life to helping Kansas Schools.

I am reaching out to KASBO membership to contact their legislators and/or state school board member requesting that Mr. Dennis and his team not be put on leave during the enquiry into this issue.  I am doing this for two reasons, first because Mr. Dennis has always been there for all KASBO Member.  Mr. Dennis has probably saved my job several times through his advice and knowledge. The second reason for the request is tied to the first reason because if Mr. Dennis's team is not in their office there is nobody to save me.  The second reason seams selfish but it is very truthful.  Mr. Dennis has saved a lot of us through the years.

I understand if you choose not do this but please consider it.  Below is contact information for State School Board Members and Legislators.
